Describe evidence, not certainty
Say what is visible, distinguish a smith from a brand or workshop, and cite sources when possible. Resolved discussions are community conclusions, not authentication.
Protect people and image rights
Post only photos you may share. Cover faces, addresses, receipts, order numbers, and other private information. Forum material is public and does not automatically enter Mei’s identification database.
Disagree with the claim, not the person
No harassment, hate, scams, impersonation, or commercial spam. Use Report for misinformation, privacy, copyright, or safety issues.
Retention
Members may edit their posts and remove unanswered discussions. Removed public photos are held for up to 30 days for report review, then purged. Hidden text and previous post text are retained for up to 90 days for abuse review, then irreversibly redacted; open reports can preserve relevant evidence longer. Read notifications are removed after 30 days and all notifications after 90 days. Account deletion anonymizes retained discussion history and removes notifications addressed to that account.
Recovery-key safety
Mei stores only a one-way digest of each recovery key. Your browser prepares a replacement before rotation is committed, so you can save it even if the response is interrupted. The previous key and every existing signed-in session are revoked immediately.
